I was reading my Bible the other evening and came across a passage of scripture that challenged me to ask a very intense question. Before I get to the question, I will share the passage of scripture with you. The passage of scripture was in John 14:12-14 : Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (13) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (14) If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Well, here comes the challenging question. Where's The Power? There are two promises in this passage of scripture. First, we are guarenteed that we would do greater works for the Kingdom of God, and Secondly; we would be able to ask anything in the name of Jesus Christ, and The Father would do it. I really do not believe we could do greater works than Jesus, simply because the greatest work was the gift of salvation. Now, I realize that Jesus was talking about seeing the manifestation of the Power of God, because He would send the Holy Spirit to dwell in the lives of His believers.
We are living in a society that demands answers, especially when it comes to the Kingdom of God. Everything that we (Christians) believe is coming under attack. We need for this passage of scripture to come alive in our communities. I believe the church should have the upperhand in Government, Schools, and every institution under the hand of Almighty God. We deserve this right, not only because of who we are; but mostly because of Who dwells in us. So, I ask you, "Where is the Power?". Please send me your thoughts!!!!
